Super Why To the Rescue!

Super Why is a big deal in our house these days. This is a PBS show that teaches kids how to spell, rhyme, and read. There are 4 characters with 4 different powers--Whyatt with the power to read; Princess Presto with the power to spell, Wonder Red with word power, and Alpha Pig with alphabet power. During each episode, the kids explore one children's book to find the answer to a problem that one of them is dealing with.
Elina's favorite character is Princess Presto (of course) and Eli loves Super Why. We got the kids 2 role play sets (Princess Presto and Super Why) so that they could pretend to be the characters at home. Each set comes with a wand, a cape, and a tiara or mask. When you press the button on the wand, the wand says phrases that Princess Presto and Super Why say. The kids think that this is so cool.

Here are the kids singing one of the Super Why songs in their new outfits--

Here are the kids watching Super Why and putting their hands in with the characters before they turn into super heroes (side note: they were only allowed to stay this close to the TV for this video...we know they aren't supposed to be watching from there!)--

We all love Super Why here! I think we will all dress up as Super Why characters for Halloween this year. We haven't figured out who's who yet, besides Elina and Eli. We may have Evie dress up as Wonder Red and I might have to be Alpha Pig. B might end up being the Super Why book or Whyatt's PDA/cell phone thing. Either way I think it'll be pretty cute, don't you?
