After dealing with something like this, I thought we deserved a break...boy, was I wrong!
On Saturday, Eli developed this really bad cough. Every time he gets sick, it usually gets into his chest...that's why he's had bronchitis and pneumonia a few times already in his life. So any time he coughs, I get nervous. Well, he was coughing so violently on Saturday, that it made him throw up...all...day...long. He threw up everything...even Gatorade and water. The poor boy was not doing well at all. Luckily, by Sunday he was a little bit better and could hold down food. He was still coughing, but not as badly. Phew!
BUT on Saturday night, Evie started getting hives all over the place. We immediately gave her Benadryl, but the next day, it wasn't any better. It actually looked worse....and as the day went on, it got worse and worse. We gave her more Benadryl and put cortisone on, but it didn't look like it was helping. Sunday night was the worst because she was up half the night scratching, screaming and crying. It was the saddest thing to watch. The poor girl had no idea what was going on, all she knew was that her whole body was extremely itchy. She woke up a lot and we kept going to her room to put more aloe on her body and to rock her. The hives on her belly were so bad, that her belly button was swollen shut! Looking at her really brought tears to my eyes. It was awful. We took her to the doctor the next day and she told us that we needed to keep her on Benadryl continuously for a few days to keep the hives toned down. Obviously, Evie was allergic to something, we just don't know what. So after this all clears up, we are definitely going to get her tested. The poor girl still has hives on her body. It always gets progressively worse as the day goes on. By nighttime, her feet are always a little swollen from the hives.
Now she's had the hives for 5 days already and they're still around. Boo. I hope that things get better after this. They have to, right? Can we just tone down the bodily fluids at least?? Let's just hope for the best...

Oh no! As if such a gross sinus infection wasn't bad enough... I hope you guys figure out what Evie is allergic to soon! Poor girl. Hives are the worst...
poor kid...benadryl yes, and perhaps ice-cube massage if she tolerates?
