Udderly Hilarious

Recently, J and I took the kids to the San Antonio Children's Museum. I took Elina once when she wasn't even 2 yet and she only enjoyed 20% of what was there because she was still too young. It wasn't worth the trip back then. Now, it's a different story. She had a great time! She sat in an "airplane," searched for artifacts, built an arch, and even milked a cow. Yes, milked a cow (a fake cow, but nonetheless).

This was the funniest thing. Elina waited her turn to milk the cow and she looked so interested because all these other kids were having so much fun doing it. Then when it was her turn, J took her over to the udders and Elina started to protest, "I don't want to do it." So we took her away. Then she saw another kid doing it, so it piqued her interest again. (As a parent, you quickly learn that kids always want to do what other kids are doing, always want what other kids have.) So we took Elina over to the udders again and she gave us this worried look...she held her pointer finger up and moved her hand up and down (like she was lecturing) and asked, "Is it real or no?" We explained that it was a pretend cow and that the "milk" coming out was actually water. That seemed to calm her down, so she nervously pulled on the udders to milk the cow. She didn't do it for long, but here are some pictures of our nervous little milkmaid. Moooooooooooooo.
