We decided to celebrate on the 31st (rather than the 30th) just because we all took the 30th as our day-of-rest-from-packing-and-moving. Then we just threw together a simple, little family get together at J's house.
Since Evie loves cats, we went with a cat-theme. J made these cute little cat plates

and we bought cupcakes from a local bakery and turned them into cats with some icing and candies.

They actually turned out really well! Besides that, we had flowers and balloons for decorations. Definitely not up to par for me and J, but it was the best we could do this year.
Here is Evie while we sang "Happy Birthday" to her--
Evie actually really dug into her cupcake this year. She ate the entire thing and made a complete mess. It was great to see one of our kids make a big cake mess! I love the way she just smashes the rest of the cake into her mouth at the end. Love it!
Evie is seriously our little wild child. She's just full of energy and personality. She's loud and loves to make a scene...she loves to dance like a crazy lady for everyone...she's just plain silly. And we love it! I mean, look at her go!
Here are just a few of the things Evie can do these days--
1. She talks up a storm. She copies everything everyone else says and she always has to make sure that I hear about it. You don't know how many times a day I have to hear the phrase, "Mommy, watch." It's not even 2 words anymore...she says it so much and so fast, that it's become 1 word for her.
2. She loves to play with Elina and Eli. She especially enjoys running around and chasing them.
3. She is VERY loud. When she wants you to watch her or if she doesn't want something or if she's just plain happy, she needs everyone to hear her.
4. She wants to do everything herself. She always tells us, "Vivi [Evie] do it!"
5. She is very dramatic. When she eats yummy food she makes it look like it's the most delicious thing ever. When she laughs, she's very loud about it. When she's happy, she has to stomp her feet.
6. She loves pretend play. She especially enjoys making pretend meals and drinks...then she pretends to eat and drink them loudly (of course).
Even though it was a small celebration, it was still a very happy birthday for our little girl!
