Last Saturday we had back-to-back birthday parties to attend. This was the very first time it's happened to us. The first party was at Pump It Up, an inflatable bouncey place that the kids love. The second party was at a martial arts place. Of course both parties served pizza and cake...we are officially off of pizza for at least 2 weeks! Cake is another story...you can always eat more cake.
What I wanted to post about was the martial arts party. It was SO much fun for the kids and I had even more fun watching them! Eli was a hoot! He was so into it and loved every single minute of it. He bounced all over the place, punched the ceiling a lot, and kicked everything he could (which wasn't much)...all with the biggest smile on his face! He is FAR from being a pro, but it was just so cute to watch him.
Here is his "game face"--
He was even confident enough to volunteer himself for the freestyle section. Yes, freestyle...where you go to the center by yourself and perform moves of your own (or the instructor would give cues). Eli did a great job. It was awesome!
Elina, on the other hand, was initially a little self-conscious about the whole thing. The punching, kicking and yelling is SO NOT her personality. But after awhile she started to have fun with it and by the end she was having a grand ol' time.
