When my parents and Aunt A were leaving to go back to Brownsville, they thought it would be fun to take the older kids with them. Boy, were Eli and Elina excited! A trip to Brownsville is on Elina's Summer To-Do List, so this was the perfect opportunity.
They were only there for 4 whole days, but every day there was a new adventure!
A trip to the Brownsville Children's Museum...
Aunt A said that the kids could have spent all day there!
A trip to South Padre Island...
The kids had a blast and were braver than they were when we went to Corpus Christi last month. They loved jumping the waves and playing in the water. Elina also found (and brought home) a million shells. I absolutely love this picture of Elina jumping a wave! Awesome!
A trip to Chuck E. Cheese...
This was a much-needed "down" day because the kids were getting exhausted (not that they knew it). They were doing a lot during the days and then not going to bed right away at night, so Aunt A prescribed a more restful day.
A trip to Gladys Porter Zoo...
This was actually not quite as fun because of the extreme heat. Aunt A said after an hour the kids wanted to leave already. Everyone was pretty miserable. Luckily, there was a new little splash pad to relieve them a bit.
On top of all this, the kids helped Ah-Gong and Ah-Ma with their amazing garden, got ice cream from the ice cream man, ate lots of treats, and played in the sprinklers.
At the end, they told Aunt A that they didn't want to come back to San Antonio. Who would want to return home after all that fun?? It's funny because when we spoke to them on the phone, they would say, "I miss you" without any prodding...but then when it was time to leave, they didn't want to comply. According to Elina, she didn't want to come back because "Mommy and Daddy are the boss of me." Ha!
Aunt A sure was nice to take the kids with her and then take them to so many fun places! We're sure going to miss her when she leaves...especially the kids. They just love her!
