A Few Last-Minute Fun Things

Here are a few things that we've done and a few things that have happened over the past few weeks...

"Chopped" for Kids
Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMugWe love to watch the reality cooking show "Chopped" and we let the kids watch with us sometimes.  They've really liked it and now they'll play their own versions of "Chopped" with their play food.  They come up with some pretty funny things.  Elina actually made a play dessert where she said she used "roasted bananas."  We thought that sounded pretty awesome!  Well, playing with the fake food, led to the kids wanting to make dinner for the adults one night.  We put them in charge of salad and dessert and they did a great job.  The salad was yummy and they even ate some pieces of lettuce and spinach with us!

For dessert, they used key lime yogurt and topped it with crushed cookies with some whipped cream and blueberries.  It was very tasty!  Definitely a fun activity!  Elina loved being the executive chef and Eli loved being the sous chef.
Another Tooth
Elina lost her 7th tooth the other day.  I was kind of glad that one got pulled because it was the yellowest tooth she had in her mouth.  My kids just have this plaque that loves to hold onto starches...which, in turn, makes some of their teeth incredibly yellow.  It kills me because it's not like I give them starchy crackers all day...they eat fruit and yogurt and other things...but for some reason, their teeth can look so yellow at times.

I love this missing tooth though because her adult tooth hasn't come in yet!  Makes her look so young and cute.

Dentist Trip
I scheduled all 3 kids for back-to-back dentist appointments the other day.  They all had a great time and it was Evie's 1st time to see the dentist.  She did so well in the beginning.  She let the hygienists do everything...she really listened to directions...and she really enjoyed talking to them.
THEN, the dentist shows up and the minute she's seated next to him, she starts to wail...like her arm is being torn off.  Maybe it's because he's a man.  I don't really know.  But we love the kids' dentist because he's really funny and friendly...I guess Evie's not a fan yet.

Singing Diva
Evie really loves to sing and dance these days.  Her favorite songs to sing are "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "ABC."  There are 3 rules when Evie sings: (1) We are not allowed to sing with her.  This is a big rule.  If you sing with her, she will immediately stop and say, "No, I sing it."  (2) We're not allowed to interrupt her...or else she'll start all over again.  (3) We must clap at the end of her performance.  Lots of rules, but still pretty cute.
