Our little girl is a year and a half now...time sure flies by!
Here are her current stats--
Weight: 22.5 pounds (20th percentile)
Height: 31.25 inches (35th percentile)
Head: 18.3 inches (55th percentile)
Here are a few things Evie is up to--
*TALKING: This girl is definitely a talker! Her first words were "mama," "dada," and "yaya" (J). Then she started saying "bubbles" because of bubble time at Gymboree. After that "jie jie" (older sister) and "ge ge" (older brother) followed. And now she likes to say "no" (of course!), "milk," "nack" (snack), and "el" (help). When she says, "nigh nigh" before bedtime, she always walks around and makes sure everyone says it back to her. It's really cute!
*IMITATING: She imitates everyone these days. If you cough, she coughs. If you wipe your mouth, she wipes her mouth. Because she loves imitation, she's learned a lot of new things. She puts her finger to her lips to say, "Shhhh." She will sneeze and say, "Ahhh....ahhhh...achoo!" She also puts up one finger to count, "1-2-3" before she gets ready to go down a slide.
*ARTS and CRAFTS: She loves to join the kids at the arts and crafts table to color...but only in marker. Crayons don't do it for her anymore. She scribbles all sorts of things, but nothing concrete yet.
*CLINGINESS: She's definitely a mama's girl. I am the only one who can comfort her when she gets hurt. I am the only one who can put her to bed at night...or else she screams bloody murder. If I'm not upstairs at bedtime, she just cries and yells my name at the top of the stairs until I go up. And when I follow her to her bedroom, she constantly turns around to make sure that I'm following her. During the day, she always backs herself right into my lap to sit with me and she loves to climb all over me. She exhausts me...but I must admit that when I pick her up and she rests her head on my shoulder, it's a pretty nice feeling. (Although my arms are definitely getting a work out.) To be fair, I think she gets more clingy when she gets tired.
*DRESSING UP: She is all about the accessories! She loves to put on Elina's play high heels and walk around the house. She even adds bracelets, necklaces, and sunglasses to the outfit. (So, of course, she can say "shoe.")
*PLAYING: She plays well with both Elina and Eli, but her true buddy is Eli just because they spend most of their day together. Eli and Evie love to chase each other around the house. Eli invites her by saying, "Roar!" and then the chase is on! They also spend a lot of time in the play kitchen and at the train table. They even have this funny thing they do when they eat lunch together at the table. Eli makes this silly face with an open mouth and then Evie tosses her head back and lets out a maniacal laugh that's hilarious! They have their own language and are pretty inseparable now.
One of her favorite games is Peekaboo.
*DANCING: She is gonna be a wild one! She loves to dance to any music that she hears. Sometimes she just sways from side to side...or she'll stomp her feet quickly.
But other times she puts her hands on a table and then shakes her shoulders forward and back. If we're lucky, she'll even shake her head around. It's so funny!
*TV: She definitely watches more TV than the other ones ever did. It's just difficult because sometimes the older kids need to take mental breaks with a TV show and if Evie is around she joins in on the action. Well, she has favorite characters already. She loves Mickey Mouse and Super Why. She always wants me to read a Super Why book to her so that she can dance at the end when I sing the ending song.
*EATING: She is pretty good at feeding herself now....although it doesn't look like it.
*TEETH: She has so many teeth now! It's like they all came in at once. Some molars came in and now her canines are about to come through. It looks painful, but so far it's only affected her sleep a little.
*FACIAL EXPRESSIONS: This is a girl who has lots of different facial expressions. But don't let the cute faces fool you...she is definitely one feisty girl! (The feistiest of all of them!) She always lets us know (very loudly) when she doesn't want something. We've already had to take her out of a restaurant because she threw a fit about her dinner. Yikes!
*GYMBOREE: She loves her weekly trips to Gymboree. Her favorite things are the "freeze song" and bubble time (especially tummy bubbles)!
*JUMPING: She can finally jump on Eli's old zebra jumper. Her legs weren't long enough before but now she can do it on her own. Yay!
Before I know it, we'll be celebrating her 2nd birthday! It's all going by so quickly!
