Eli's School Events

It seems like the kids are always up to something these days.  Here are a few exciting things that happened to Eli recently--

FIRETRUCK VISIT
Eli was so excited to see a real firetruck up-close!  The firemen discussed fire safety and put on their uniforms to show the kids what they look like in case of a real fire.  Then the kids went into the firetruck to see what the inside looks like.  Then (the most exciting part of all) the kids got to hold onto the hose while it sprayed water!!  Eli was so proud of himself for doing this!

SHOW AND TELL
When school began, Eli's teacher told us that parents wouldn't be allowed to visit the classroom for the first month.  Since the kids are so young, they want the kids to trust the teachers first and to learn the routine so that they aren't too distracted by class visitors.  Every week the kids do show and tell on Thursdays and I have not been able to watch one yet.  It's been killing me because I just wonder what Eli does when he gets up there.  Well, 2 weeks ago I was finally allowed to watch and it was great!  Eli brought Evie as his show and tell item.  He was nervous, but he told everyone that she was his baby.  Then he told them how he's really good at making her smile and laugh...and how she likes to sing with him.  It was adorable!

FIRST FIELD TRIP
This week we went to the Texas Transportation Museum for Eli's first field trip.  The kids got to ride in a caboose pulled by a diesel engine.  Then we got to walk through some old trains and see cool model trains and old vehicles.  It was a really fun time!
