On Labor Day we decided to take a trip to the zoo in the morning. Considering it was a holiday, it wasn't too crowded. This is partly because it seems that San Antonio is a "late-rising city." (All the better for us!) The weather was also great...sunny with a little breeze.
This was the first time Eli enjoyed the zoo. Usually he sits in his stroller and is more of a passive zoo visitor. This time he was pointing at all the animals while saying their names or making their sounds. He was so excited to see
real animals rather than just pictures or toys of animals. It made the trip so much more fun.

On this particular trip, we also decided to let Elina take her princess camera to take pictures of the animals. She had a blast taking her own pictures and adding her little icons. Here are some of her more memorable pics:

The Princesses share a moment with a real Komodo dragon.

Elina tries to crown the statue of the Komodo dragon.

There was this area with fake eggs, so Elina decided the "eggs" belonged to the Disney birds.

Of course, the birds have to hang out with their bird friends, the flamingos.
I think from now on we are going to carry around the princess camera more often, especially when we go somewhere. It's funny to see what Elina comes home with!
