Valentine's Day was a fun, relaxing time this year. After church, we had our heart pancakes and then we opened up our Valentine's mailboxes.
This year, J gave us the idea to do something different. For 2 weeks, all of us could write something sweet about someone else and put it into their mailbox. Each day we'd spend some time to drop a few paper hearts into each other's mailboxes. The kids were SO excited to open up their boxes to read what everyone wrote about them! We all got really good ones in our boxes...
Eli had lots of notes about how much we all liked his dancing. Elina had notes about being helpful and funny. Evie's notes raved about how nicely she always shares, especially her treats with Eulee. Eulee got notes about her singing and dancing.
Then afterwards, we did our annual Valentine's Day scavenger hunt. The kids loved it! Each kid would have a specific clue and when he/she got to the location, there would be a little prize. There were sticker sets, Pokemon cards, candy, and lots of other goodies.
For Valentine's dinner, I made a new dish and it was really yummy! The only bad thing was that Elina ended up being sick in the stomach in the late afternoon. She spent the rest of the day in bed and she missed out on the yummy food. What a bummer...but we hope all of you had a Happy Valentine's Day!
