7 Months

Here are Evie's current stats--

Weight: 11 pounds 14.5 ounces
Height: 24.5 inches
Unfortunately, our tiny, little Evie has only gained 1.5 ounces in a month....so now we're on a mission to put some more fat on this baby. Since she refuses to take a bottle, we have resorted to feeding her 3 meals a day....and boy, does this girl eat a lot! She's exactly how Eli was at this age. He was an endless pit and would scream whenever I stopped feeding him. Now she eats all kinds of cereals, peas, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and bananas. She seems to like everything so far.

Here are a few other things Evie is currently into--

1. Evie loves to bang things. Her favorite thing to do is bang things against her body. She also likes to bang her little piano.



2. I previously posted that she can play in the exersaucer, but one of the monumental things with this exersaucer is when the baby can press down on the chicken to play a song. In the beginning, we always press it to entertain the baby. Then, suddenly, the baby can do it him/herself. This is what happened with Eli...and now, Evie can do it herself as well! It always comes as a shock because we throw her into the exersaucer and walk away and then suddenly we hear the chicken song! It's funny that something that seems so insignificant makes you realize how quickly babies grow and learn. What's funny about this video is that Evie is refusing to push the chicken. J is trying to get her to do it, but Evie just keeps smiling about it and not doing it.



3. Evie sticks her tongue out all the time now.

4. Evie thinks her toes are the yummiest snack in the world! Look at this girl go to town on her toes! In this video, she has just eaten her big toe for awhile and she's just checking out her foot.


5. Her stranger anxiety seems to be getting a little better. She still loves to hang out with her mommy in a carrier, but with such a cute baby, I kinda don't mind too much.

6. She is starting to sit still for books. This has taken awhile because she never liked to sit still...there always had to be motion involved when holding her.

7. Now that Evie eats solids and she's a good sitter, we can put her in a highchair whenever we go out to eat. This is truly a blessing for us since we always have to hold her when we go out to eat. She isn't one of those sweet babies who quietly sits in a car seat, letting the parents enjoy a meal. So now that we can put her in the highchair to feed her, we can actually eat our own food at a normal pace. What a relief!

8. Evie is finally in her own bedroom! Hallelujah! After 7 months of having her sleep in our room and in our closet, she's in her own room in her own crib now. B and I are so happy to have our own space again. When she slept in our closet, we could never put our clothes away or clean the closet after she went to bed. We couldn't use our own bathroom either, so a lot of our toiletries were in the bathroom by the living room. It wasn't fun. But even though Evie's in her own room, she's still waking up once at night to cry about things. We don't pick her up, but it's still hard having to wake up in the middle of the night to that sound. It's been about 6 weeks now and she still wakes up to cry for a little while about 90% of the time. I don't know what it's all about, but I hope it ends soon.

Evie is such a happier baby these days. She's more smiley and seems to play a little bit more by herself nowadays. And the kids absolutely adore her...which makes for really cute pictures.
