We tried a beef noodle soup place close to the house at Mama Zhang's Noodle House. Tasty, but definitely too pricey for Taiwan standards. Each bowl was about $8 here...when normally you can get noodle soup for $2-$3!! For that much, it should have blown our minds. Mind not blown. =(
While the big kids were at school, we discovered a delicious mango slush at Taiwan Wei (downstairs in the Carrefour building). Wow! Mind definitely blown.
After school, we got some dinner with my cousin's family....
...then we finally made it to the building in Taipei that everyone talks about....
TAIPEI 101!!
This building is especially beautiful at night!
We rode one of the fastest elevators in the world (37.7 mph) up to the 89th floor observation deck in 40 seconds. The elevator gets dark and has a "star lit" ceiling that makes everything seem dreamy.
We also walked up to the 91st floor to check out the outdoor observation deck. It was a clear night, so we could see a lot! What a great view!
We also checked out the huge yellow damper that keeps the tower stable.
What a beautiful building and what a fun night with cousins!! (On a side note, my kids are just loving these new 2nd cousins they've just discovered. Eli is SO thrilled to have another boy his age to play with. We're so glad they can all get to know each other better!)
