On New Year's Eve we had our individual meetings with all the kids where we reflect on school, home life, extracurricular activities, goals, etc. We started doing this 2 times a year (thanks to my good friend KT) and we have been loving the whole process.
Then we did different, fun activities every hour on the hour. It was pretty awesome! When you spend a day that way, the hours tend to pass very quickly! Some things were simple and didn't take much time, other things took more prep work. We had a dance party,
filled out "year in review" sheets, played games,
did fireworks in the cold,
had a fondue party...it was all great fun!

Of course we did our messy confetti. We seem to love to clean huge messes!
Here were some of our resolutions:
Elina wants to learn to whistle (still the same resolution since 2017!)...and wants to be better at drawing.
Eli wants to learn to not throw things (he's in an impulsive stage right now)...and wants to be more flexible to be better at karate.
Evie wants to learn to do the whole splits...and wants to be better at drawing too.
Eulee wants to learn to whistle...and wants to be better at jumping rope.
I want to learn to use my Silhouette machine to make crafty things...and to be better at sleeping (aka going to bed at a decent hour...or at least before 12:30am).
B wants to learn to organize his thoughts (he always sounds so deep...) and to be better at getting stuff done around the house (good luck with this).
After our confetti mess, Eulee went to bed first and then the other 3 stayed up with us playing more board games. It was Evie's first year to stay up til midnight! The kids were definitely tired. They pointed at the clock...talked about how cool they were for staying up til midnight...then they all went to bed and passed out. Ha!
We also threw in a Kids' Choice Day at the end of break...the kids get to decide everything for the day. Of course, this meant a trip to my all-time favorite place, Incredible Pizza. (That was totally meant to be sarcastic.)
After that we went home and did a foosball-air hockey-nerf gun-ping pong tournament. This was more fun than I thought it would be! The boys totally dominated...how annoying! Eli won for Nerf and foosball. B won for air hockey and ping pong. My boys know their games!
Then the kids wanted to serve us at their "restaurant" called Zunday's. B and I already ate at Zunday's for 2 nights straight, but the kids love cooking so much that they wanted to make us food again! Wow! What a treat! Then we had a "Trollhunters" marathon to finish watching the second season....what a perfect ending!
These kids are so funny. They love to go out and do things, but they are really homebodies at heart. Since school, the commute to/from school, and extracurricular activities can take us away from the house so much, they truly cherish time at home. We all do. So this was an awesome way to end the break!
