After returning from the beach, we had 4 days to rest and
relax....and do laundry and clean out the car. You know, usual post-beach
stuff.
Then our good friends invited us to a big water park in New
Braunfels called Schlitterbahn. This park is famous because it's the only water
park that is fed by a natural spring. So the water is amazing but also icy
cold!
We've lived in San Antonio for almost a decade now
(seriously?!?) and we had never been to Schlitterbahn as a family. For us it
was just too far and too big. It's really only 40 minutes away! In
actuality we are just lame and never wanted to expend the energy to go to
Schlitterbahn with all the crowds.
Well I am so glad that we went! It was such a great
experience. We loved all the tube rides! (Well, Eulee liked little slides and the pools...she was a little nervous on tube rides.)
And it wasn't scorching hot
out...we actually got hit by a thunderstorm while we were there too! It got so
windy and the rain was coming down in sheets! It was insane. The park shut down
the rides until the rain stopped. After 20 minutes everything died down so that
was good. And it helped that lots of people left so the lines were
shorter!
I was so impressed that Evie agreed to go down this slide with the other kids. She is so brave!
We ended up staying until the park closed at 8! We got home
late and everyone except for Elina (of course) passed out in the car. It was a long but fun day in the sun! We
all can't wait to go back!
