January Wrap-Up

Again, I have lost track of time...so let me do a quick wrap-up of last month!

1. MONSTER JAM--This year B took Eli and Evie to MJ.  Elina decided that it wasn't really her thing...which was totally ok with Eli and Evie.  They had a blast with just their Dad...watching trucks race and do tricks...and eating lots of cotton candy.  Ha!  The sad thing was that the fire-breathing dino-monster truck didn't make an appearance this year.  Booooo.  It was still a fun night though!

2. FAMILY VISIT--B's parents came in for a quick weekend visit.  It was too bad it was one of our wettest, chilliest weekends so far (although, being from Portland, they were completely used to it).  So we just spent a lot of time playing at home and enjoying each other's company.
3. SNOW DAY--Eli and Evie had Snow Day at school and it was tons of fun!  They shoveled the snow, made snowballs, and had an awesome time!  Eulee, on the other hand, poked at the snow for 5 minutes and then headed toward the office to get some candy.  It's funny because Evie did the same thing when she was 2...she just wasn't interested in the snow.

4. BASKETBALL--Eli started another basketball season and he is really enjoying it.  His team is smaller, so he's been getting more play time...which is good for him because he's building up his confidence.  Eli has really been getting into basketball lately.  Whenever he has spare time, he runs outside to shoot some hoops.  He is having so much fun with it and he's improved a lot!

5. SPECIAL FRIEND DAY--My parents were in town to make it to Eli's Special Friend Day at school.  They do an activity together in the class and then they eat a spaghetti lunch in the cafeteria.  For Eli's activity, Eli had to interview each of them.  Eli said the funniest answer was "What is your favorite color?" because Ah-Gong said, "black" and Ah-Ma said, "white."

Unfortunately, my parents couldn't attend Evie's so B went to that one.  They did a handprint craft for Evie and then had yummy spaghetti together.  What a great time!

6. BEE JUBILEE--Elina's school had their monthly assembly again and this time 4th grade was in charge of putting on skits that were related to another characteristic--fairness.  Elina wrote the skit for her class because she absolutely did not want to act in the skit.  If you wrote the skit, you didn't have to perform.  So she and B came up with a cute little skit about a bakery shop.  A lot of customers wanted to purchase the same cake (some for more money than it was priced at), but in the end the baker sold the cake to the first person who wanted to buy it because "fair is fair."

Don't feel obligated to watch the entire skit.  It's kind of long and difficult to hear some of their voices.
7. SICK, SICK, SICK--This has been a sick month for us.  Luckily, we've avoided the flu, but little colds have been setting us back a lot.  Eli couldn't enjoy his extra-long MLK weekend because he was sick with a stomach thing.  Evie missed her Snow Day because of a cold (thank goodness she had already played in the snow at Eli's Snow Day!).  Then Eli got sick again 2 weeks later and missed his class Science Fair presentation!  On top of missing the Science Fair, we had to cancel our plans for a family Houston trip (more on that later).  It's all been such a bummer, but we're hoping for the best next month!

8. GLOBETROTTERS
We went to see the Globetrotters with AM and his family.  Unfortunately, AM and Eli were both not feeling 100% that night.  Eulee was sick, so B stayed home with her.  We had an extra ticket so we took one of Elina's friends with us.

The show was so cheesy and fun!  We all had a blast!  Eli was mostly watching with his mouth wide open.  After watching the show, he said he is just dreaming and dreaming about making a slam dunk one day.  So cute!

Seriously, I think all I do is live from kid activity to kid activity.  This was such a busy month, now that I look back on it!  Busy, but fun..as usual!
